Salary Range: $140,000 – $170,000 

We’re looking for experienced and relationship-driven Business Development Managers (BDMs) to join a rapidly growing underwriting agency that’s transforming how the market approaches Latent Defects Insurance in construction. With two roles based in Melbourne and one in Sydney, these positions will play a pivotal role in educating the broker market and driving distribution growth across key regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a brand ambassador, educating brokers on the Latent Defects Insurance model, how it works, and how to position it to their clients
• Identify and target growth opportunities in the Victorian or NSW markets by promoting the agency’s specialist construction insurance offerings. 
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with broker partners, acting as their go-to point of contact for support and strategic advice
• Present product solutions clearly, helping brokers understand the value proposition and guiding them through the sales process
• Represent the business at industry events, broker meetings, and networking opportunities to increase market awareness

About You

• Proven experience in a BDM or account management role within general insurance – either from an insurer, MGA, or broking background
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance distribution and a well-established broker network (e.g. Coverforce or similar)
• Ability to confidently engage with brokers, educate them on technical products (without deep-diving), and help them sell to end clients
• Highly self-motivated with a proactive mindset and a strong focus on client service and solution selling
• Exposure to construction-related products or latent defects is highly desirable but not essential
