Join a leading national insurer in a Senior Claims Officer - Property Liability role focused on complex, high-value claims involving litigation, disputes, and technical liability decisions.
 
You'll manage a portfolio (~35-40 claims), giving you the space to focus on depth, strategy, and technical decision-making rather than volume processing.
 
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced claims professional who enjoys complex construction/property disputes and mentoring junior staff.
 
 
What You'll Be Doing

• Manage complex property liability claims end-to-end
• Determine coverage, liability, and indemnity outcomes
• Handle matters involving litigation, mediation, and tribunals
• Represent claims in dispute forums including:
  • NCAT
  • VCAT
• Work with legal counsel, experts, and external stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior Claims Officers
• Contribute to QA and technical claims improvement

What We're Looking For

• 3-5+ years' experience in property liability claims
• Strong exposure to complex or escalated claims
• Experience across residential, strata, or commercial property
• Strong capability in liability, indemnity, and coverage decisions
• Experience in litigation or tribunal matters highly regarded
• Mentoring or informal leadership experience a plus

Complex Claims You'll Handle

• Construction defect and building failure claims
• Multi-party disputes (builders, owners corporations, contractors)
• High-value and catastrophic property losses
• Coverage and indemnity disputes
• Litigation and tribunal escalation matters
