Social Worker | Rehabilitation and Support Specialist

A unique opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to work with one of Australia's largest life insurers and help support their claimants through some of life's most challenging moments.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about dealing with the vulnerable in the community, with skills and knowledge when it comes to community resourcing involves assessing a client's circumstances, needs and level of risk, identifying their existing strengths and support networks, and then identifying and coordinating appropriate services and resources within the community to address any gaps in support and improve their safety and wellbeing. All training on insurance, product and policy information will be provided upon commencement.
You will play a pivotal role in helping people reclaim their health, independence and confidence during some of life's most challenging moments. By partnering closely with internal teams, this role shapes meaningful recovery and rehabilitation pathways that support sustainable return‑to‑health and return‑to‑work outcomes. Your impact extends beyond to strengthening capability, improving outcomes and reinforcing the client's commitment to doing the right thing for customers, every step of the way.
In this role you will: - Drive optimal recovery and return‑to‑health outcomes by shaping clear, evidence‑based strategies across life insurance claims.
- Partner with claims teams and health practitioners to remove barriers and accelerate sustainable return‑to‑health outcomes for customers.
- Identify and intervene early on at‑risk claims to prevent prolonged recovery and improve overall claim duration and experience.
- Build internal claims teams' capability through coaching and guidance on medical, rehabilitation and return‑to‑work decision‑making.
- Ensure recovery services deliver value by influencing quality, alignment and performance of external providers.
- Strengthen best‑practice recovery approaches by collaborating with Health Services and contributing insights to the leadership team.
Qualifications
- A strong Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Allied Health or Rehabilitation background with a focus on rehabilitation, return-to-health or return‑to‑work outcomes.
- A practical biopsychosocial mindset, enabling you to see the whole person and navigate complex barriers to recovery with confidence.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills that help you build trust, influence outcomes and engage diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative, coaching‑oriented approach, with a genuine desire to share expertise and lift capability across teams.
- A customer‑first mindset and professional judgement, allowing you to work effectively within compensable environments while doing what's right.
