Job Description

As an Actuarial Analyst you will be involved in a range of actuarial engagements for corporate and government clients.  Using a variety of cutting-edge tools, you will work with data to provide top quality and efficient solutions to real world challenges.

An example of the work you will be involved in is projecting the lifetime cost of New Zealand’s social welfare system or optimising pricing for a major Australian insurer.

You will be surrounded by like-minded people who will help you learn new skills as you build upon your industry experience.  The company’s flat hierarchy structure also means that you will work closely with senior staff and stakeholders gaining valuable insight and development opportunities.

As your role develops, you will increasingly be involved in business development, client management and marketing activities, and have the opportunity to attend and present at local and international conferences.

We are seeking candidates with actuarial work experience gained in an actuarial or analytics role.

Further to this, candidates will need to have:
  • Achieved strong academic results throughout their degree gained in a quantitative discipline (i.e. physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science or actuarial studies);
  • Developed sound work credentials with a demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively;
  • Gained experience working independently and as part of a team;
  • Developed interpersonal skills so that you are comfortable liaising with clients and/or stakeholders and be developing your ability to think practically and commercially.
Our client offer competitive remuneration packages, including profit share based on company performance and the potential for equity ownership, as well as generous study support and exam based bonuses while you work to qualifying as an Actuary. They have also created a relaxed office environment with a casual dress code and flexible working (hours and location).
