Job Description

My client is a reputable and highly successful financial services firm with offices based nationally.  Currently an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advice Manager / Practice Development Manager to join the team on a permanent basis to be based in the Adelaide offices.  This is an opportunity not to be missed!!!  

The role involves:
  • Lead, engage, motivate and manage your Advisers throughout their employment, ensuring that frequent, honest feedback and coaching on performance and behaviours is provided in supporting individuals to deliver as part of a high performing team
  • Lead and grow the office in Adelaide
  • Manage the P&L for the Adelaide office
  • Operate and execute the business strategy within a risk management and operational policy framework to deliver business results while acting in the best interests of the customer
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure the efficient and effective running of the business
  • Communicate with all relevant stakeholders in a professional and ethical manner to develop a shared understanding of our businesses and a clear and consistent message about how and what the business is trying to achieve
  • Setting objectives and deliverables for advisers within the office
  • Understand, astutely manage and operate within a financial budget to drive revenue outcomes and effectively manage expenses
  • Keep abreast of general financial management as well as current market trends and conditions in order to manage risk effectively, monitor quality of advice, and identify commercial opportunities at localised levels
  • Developing and implementing succession planning and career progression of staff
  • Share best practice, support and collaborate with others at all levels within the broader team in order to promote and reinforce a "safe to speak up" culture of trust, honesty, openness, accountability, integrity and high performance
  • Initiate, lead and manage change within the business to ensure the team remains engaged and focused in delivering on the key business objectives
  • Ensure the ongoing Professional Development of Advisers by conducting and recording observations, and the provision of coaching, training and specialist accreditation to help them meet a high standard of education and maintain currency of technical knowledge, build new skills and grow their capabilities
Your Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record of Practice Management experience within financial planning or Stockbroking environment
  • Extensive leadership experience in the Australian wealth management sector
  • Proven experience managing and coaching Financial Advisors 
  • Must have a Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution 
  • Financial Planning relevant qualifications well regarded
  • Diploma of Financial Services, Financial Planning giving you RG146 Compliance in the following: (Generic Knowledge, Securities, Managed Investments, Life Insurance, Superannuation, Financial Planning and Skills)
  • Highly skilled in training and coaching
