Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a technically strong Assessor / Technical Consultant to join a close knit team within a Trustee office based in Melbourne. The role is responsible for overseeing the insurer to ensure that claims are assessed appropriately and within the policy guidelines, adhering to the life insurance code of conduct and the superannuation voluntary code of practice, and in the best interest of the member. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Overseeing claims assessed by the insurer
  • Making decisions on claims  
  • Monthly reporting 
  • Liaising with key stakeholders 
  • Managing complaints/escalations appropriately
  • Providing an exceptional service to the member at all times 
Requirements: 
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of IP, TPD, TI and Death claims. 
  • Ability to make decisions on complex claims 
  • Ability to oversee the insurer and provide feedback where appropriate 
  • Ability to prioritise your work load and manage your time effectively 
  • Ability to work in a close knit team 
  • Customer centrist attitude 
  • Ability to manage complaints and escalations appropriately
