Support a claims team by providing technical expertise on complex claims.  You will be a natural mentor, with a passion for working in a workers compensation environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with Case Managers on every aspect of the claims cycle; liability, work capacity, entitlements
  • Adding value to the process by ensuring continuous improvement in all areas of the role
  • Undertaking PIAWE calculations 
  • Ensuring entitlements are reviewed in line with legislation
  • Reviewing adverse decisions, ensuring guidelines are met
  • Identifying risks and working with the team leader, taking the appropriate action
  • Supporting Case Managers, educating them in liability decisions
  • Working with team members regarding Permanent Impairment and fatality claims
  • Applying relevant case law
  • Working closely with Injury Management and manage primary psychological  claims
  • Identifying learning gaps in partnership with team leader and deliver training

Your Experience:
  • With in-depth experience dealing with complex claims you will have had exposure to mental health, medically complex cases, or fatalities
  • Used to determining complex liability, entitlement/work capacity decisions
  • Previously worked in insurance or health industry
  • Confident in dealing with involved decision making and conflict resolution
  • Negotiating with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes

  • You will have a thorough understanding of all recent legislation relevant to workers compensation and workplace injury management
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Bags of empathy, understanding and resilience, as well as being highly customer centric in your approach
  • Strong relationship building ability, educating and guiding all parties
