Complex Claims Case Manager | Superannuation
05-10-26 Melbourne / Permanent
If your claims experience involves assessing medical evidence, eligibilty, applying legislation and taking ownership of decisions, there is strong crossover into this role!
Ensure Recruitment is partnering with an established national organisation to recruit several Complex Claims Case Managers across Melbourne
This is an opportunity to bring your existing end-to-end claims expertise into a specialist Superannuation environment, with structured training in the Legislation and Benefit framework.
You’ll work remotely as part of a supportive, connected team, with experienced Managers and Team Leaders available for technical guidance.
The role Manage approximately 40–50 active cases involving medical conditions, incapacity and benefit entitlement. You’ll investigate each matter, assess the available evidence and progress it towards a clear, well-supported outcome,
keeping members informed along the way.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning cases from initial assessment through to decision and outcome
- Reviewing medical and employment evidence, identifying gaps and obtaining further information
- Applying legislation, policy and scheme rules to assess eligibility and entitlement
- Making or contributing to benefit decisions and clearly documenting your reasoning
- Managing sensitive conversations with members, families and other stakeholders
- Keeping complex matters progressing while balancing deadlines and competing priorities
The experience that translates We’re looking for current or recent end-to-end claims management experience, particularly within
Workers Compensation, Self-Insurance, Comcare, superannuation disability or comparable statutory claims environments. You should be able to explain how you have assessed evidence, formed a view on liability or entitlement, and taken responsibility for progressing a claim through to an outcome. Experience involving psychological injury, incapacity or complex medical circumstances will be particularly relevant.
Your judgement, written communication and ability to handle sensitive situations are important. You don’t need to know this organisation’s specific framework already, but you do need substantive claims assessment experience to build on.
Roles limited to lodgement, administration, triage or RTW coordination without broader claim ownership will not provide the experience required. General insurance experience alone, without relevant medical and entitlement assessment, is unlikely to align with the brief. Why consider it?
- Strong remuneration and permanent, full-time employment
- 100% work from home, with equipment provided
- A supportive team culture with experienced colleagues to turn to
- Structured technical training and ongoing development
- A portfolio of approximately 40–50 active cases
- Several opportunities for candidates based in Melbourne and Canberra
Australian Citizenship is mandatory due to the organisation’s screening requirements. If you’ve built your experience around complex claims and evidence-based decisions, I’d welcome a conversation about how it could translate.
